International Outgoing Short Visit Scheme (award Reference Vo0867958)
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigated whether high-level scene recognition (e.g., identifying a kitten in an image) can affect low-level perception (e.g., detecting contrast changes in that image). The objectives of the short visit were (1) to develop paradigms and stimuli that could address this research goal, and (2) to collect behavioural data to test for possible interactions between recognition and perception in natural scenes.

Laconic Oblivious Transfer and Its Applications
In this work, we introduce a novel technique for secure computation over large inputs. Specifically, we provide a new oblivious transfer (OT) protocol with a laconic receiver. Laconic OT allows a receiver to commit to a large input D (of length M) via a short message. Subsequently, a single short message by a sender allows the receiver to learn mD[L], where the messages m0,m1 and the location L...

متن کاملInfluence of ground surface characteristics on the mean radiant temperature in urban areas.
The effect of variations in land cover on mean radiant temperature (T mrt ) is explored through a simple scheme developed within the radiation model SOLWEIG. Outgoing longwave radiation is parameterised using surface temperature observations on a grass and an asphalt surface, whereas outgoing shortwave radiation is modelled through variations in albedo for the different surfaces. The influence ...

متن کاملProvincial Level Survey Provides Evidence for Remarkably Short Outpatient Visit Length in Iran
Background and Objectives: Visit length is a crucial aspect of patient-physician relationship that its inadequacy can negatively influence the treatment efficiency. Studies on visit length and the factors influencing it are limited in developing countries. Thus, the objective of this study was to survey this variable at provincial level, and provide data on factors affecting it. Methods: A ...
